VoK 413: Dropping the Payload aka The Great Linear ASOIAF ReRead (Part 50)

chapter_52___a_storm_of_swords_drawing_project_by_apoiaf-d6f8i0n

This is a very special episode of our Linear re-read of George R R Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire as we reach a) the half way point in out planned episodes and b) the narrative development that for many readers is the most scarring and significant plot twist of the series to date – The Red Wedding.

Accordingly, in this episode we’ve invited some of the VOK Curators – the people responsible for the admin and direction of VOK – to come together to discuss Arya 10, Cat 7 and Arya 11 from A Storm of Swords. They are Adam/DrownedSnow, Bina007, Katie/Lady Griffin, Michal/Inkasrain and Nadia.

This episode can be listened to in conjunction with the recent VOK 400 Full Castle Recording of The Red Wedding and post-FCR discussion by some of the curators who aren’t present on this episode.  It also follows the more broad ranging VoK 412 episode that explored all things Robb Stark – a key character who doesn’t have POV chapters and whose actions are often off-screen.

The podcast is dark and full of spoilers for all published works in George R R Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire but not for HBO’s Game of Thrones.

  1. I’m loving how you guys are are throwing out episodes so rapidly recently!

It’s great listening to in depth discussions, but I also love how you get side tracked on hilarious ‘what ifs’ during these podcasts.
